Country Club
Location Louisa Street | New Orleans, LA Description The Country Club has been a Bywater neighborhood staple for more than 35 years. The historic center hall cottage built in 1884 has been home to several families before becoming one of the most famous clubs in the city. Since 1977 The Country Club has operated as a bar lounge and pool for gay clientele. In 2007, a commercial kitchen was added to the interior as a stepping stone for the venue to operate as a restaurant, as well as a bar and pool. In 2015, the current owners of the Club desired to rebrand and renovate the interior to accommodate a more diverse clientele- making the Club a more approachable and inviting place for all New Orleans tourists and locals.
